Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Add flour all at once and stir until a smooth dough forms. Remove from heat.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Add green food coloring if desired.
  5. Pipe dough into small tree shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and puffed. Let cool completely.
  7. Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  8. Slice puffs in half and fill with whipped cream. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
