A simple recipe for making Christmas candy at home.
Ingredients

- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and nuts.
- Pour onto a greased baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Once cool, break into pieces and coat with chocolate.
Notes
- Make sure to use a candy thermometer.
- Store in an airtight container.
- Try adding different nuts or dried fruits.
