A simple recipe for cooking a whole chicken in the crockpot.
Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken (4–5 lbs)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 lemon, halved
- 4 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Remove giblets from the chicken cavity.
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Place lemon halves and rosemary in the cavity.
- Pour chicken broth into the crockpot.
- Place the chicken in the crockpot, breast side up.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F.
- Remove the chicken and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Notes
- You can add vegetables like carrots and potatoes for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
