- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Gold sprinkles (as needed)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- Alternately mix in dry ingredients and milk.
- Divide batter evenly between pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes completely.
- For frosting, beat butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla.
- Frost cooled cake layers and decorate with gold sprinkles.
