Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a heart-shaped cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Once cool, frost with your favorite icing.
Notes
- You can use red or pink food coloring for the frosting.
- Decorate with chocolate shavings or fresh berries.
- This cake can be made a day in advance.
