Delicious cookies decorated with buttercream for Valentine’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • Food coloring (red, pink)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mix well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, combine well.
  6. Roll dough into small balls and place on baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cookies cool completely.
  9. For buttercream, beat powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract until smooth.
  10. Divide and color buttercream as desired.
  11. Decorate cooled cookies with buttercream using piping bags.
