Description

A quick and flavorful dish featuring tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory teriyaki sauce served over rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup white rice, cooked
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 green onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from pan.
  4. In the same pan, add broccoli and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return beef to the pan. Stir in the teriyaki sauce.
  6. Mix cornstarch and water, then pour into the pan. Stir until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve beef and broccoli over rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Substitute chicken or tofu for beef if preferred.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce for a less salty taste.
