Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Season brisket with salt and pepper, then sear on both sides until browned.
  3. Remove brisket and sauté onions and garlic until softened.
  4. Add balsamic vinegar, beef broth, brown sugar, and thyme.
  5. Return brisket to the pot, cover, and simmer for 3 hours or until tender.
  6. Slice and serve with the reduced sauce.
