Description
A classic Swiss cheese fondue made with melted cheese and wine, perfect for dipping bread.
Ingredients

- 200g Gruyère cheese
- 200g Emmental cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- 300ml dry white wine
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp kirsch (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Nutmeg (to taste)
Instructions
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic.
- Heat the wine and lemon juice in the pot until simmering.
- Gradually add the cheese, stirring constantly until melted.
- Mix cornstarch with kirsch and stir into the cheese mixture.
- Season with pepper and nutmeg.
- Serve with bread cubes for dipping.
Notes
- Use good-quality Swiss cheese for best results.
- Stir constantly to prevent sticking.
- Adjust thickness with more wine or cornstarch if needed.
