Description
This light and airy mint chocolate mousse is the perfect dessert to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. With a rich chocolate flavor and a refreshing hint of mint, it’s a festive treat for any party!

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 3 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Green food coloring (optional)
- Mint leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form. Stir in the peppermint extract and a few drops of green food coloring if desired.
- In another bowl, beat the egg whites and salt until soft peaks form. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the whipped cream mixture gently until no white streaks remain.
- Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
- Garnish with mint leaves before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
- Make sure to use pasteurized eggs if you are concerned about food safety.
