Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in milk, vanilla, and almond extracts.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- If desired, add food coloring to achieve your preferred spring colors.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Once cooled, decorate with spring-themed decorations.
