Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  8. Fold in chopped strawberries.
  9. Divide the batter between the prepared pans.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  12. Once cooled, frost with whipped cream.
