Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over high heat.
  2. Add beef and cook until browned, then remove from pan.
  3. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.
  4. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  5. Add the sauce to the pan and bring to a simmer.
  6. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into the sauce to thicken.
  7. Return beef to the pan and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
