Ingredients
- chicken thighs – 4 pieces (about 1.5 lbs)
- honey – 1/2 cup
- hot sauce – 1/4 cup (adjust to taste)
- macaroni – 2 cups (uncooked)
- cheddar cheese – 2 cups, shredded
- milk – 1 cup
- butter – 4 tablespoons
- breadcrumbs – 1 cup
- salt and pepper – to taste
- garlic powder – 1 teaspoon (optional)
- fresh parsley – for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Mix honey and hot sauce. Season chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Coat chicken with the honey-hot sauce mixture.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Boil macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, add milk, and simmer. Stir in shredded cheddar until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Combine macaroni with cheese sauce. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
- Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle over mac and cheese.
- Bake mac and cheese alongside chicken for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Serve chicken with mac and cheese. Drizzle remaining sauce and garnish with parsley if desired.
