Description

A simple and flavorful dish with sausages, peppers, and onions cooked slowly for tender results.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausages (sweet or spicy)
  • 2 bell peppers (sliced)
  • 1 large onion (sliced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown sausages for 2-3 minutes per side.
  2. Transfer sausages to a slow cooker.
  3. Add bell peppers, onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  5. Serve hot, optionally with crusty bread or over pasta.

Notes

  • Use any type of sausage you prefer.
  • Add crushed red pepper for extra heat.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
