A simple and flavorful dish with sausages, peppers, and onions cooked slowly for tender results.
Ingredients

- 1 lb Italian sausages (sweet or spicy)
- 2 bell peppers (sliced)
- 1 large onion (sliced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown sausages for 2-3 minutes per side.
- Transfer sausages to a slow cooker.
- Add bell peppers, onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Serve hot, optionally with crusty bread or over pasta.
Notes
- Use any type of sausage you prefer.
- Add crushed red pepper for extra heat.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
