- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Sear the chicken thighs in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. This step is optional but adds flavor.
- In the slow cooker, combine chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar.
- Place the seared chicken thighs in the slow cooker, skin side up.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- Once done, remove the chicken thighs and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken thighs for 2-3 minutes after slow cooking.
- Feel free to add vegetables like carrots or potatoes to the slow cooker for a complete meal.
