  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Deliciously tender and flavorful chicken thighs cooked slowly to perfection in your slow cooker.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Sear the chicken thighs in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. This step is optional but adds flavor.
  3. In the slow cooker, combine chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar.
  4. Place the seared chicken thighs in the slow cooker, skin side up.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  6. Once done, remove the chicken thighs and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken thighs for 2-3 minutes after slow cooking.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like carrots or potatoes to the slow cooker for a complete meal.
