- 2 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into cubes
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
- 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
- Mashed potatoes (for serving)
Instructions
- Place beef cubes, onion, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt in the slow cooker.
- Stir to combine all ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
- Stir the slurry into the slow cooker and cook for an additional 30 minutes to thicken the gravy.
- Serve the beef and gravy over mashed potatoes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sear the beef cubes before adding to the slow cooker.
- You can substitute beef broth with mushroom broth for a different taste.
