- 1/4 cup apple cider
Instructions
- Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and chopping them into small pieces.
- Place the chopped apples into the slow cooker.
- Add the sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, salt, and apple cider to the slow cooker.
- Stir the mixture until the apples are well coated with the sugar and spices.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
- After 8 hours, use an immersion blender to blend the apple mixture to your desired smoothness.
- Continue cooking for an additional 1 to 2 hours uncovered to thicken the apple butter.
- Once thickened, allow the apple butter to cool before transferring it to jars.
