A flavorful and quick Chinese-inspired pepper steak with onions, perfect for a weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Marinate steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or skillet over high heat.
  3. Add garlic and stir for 10 seconds.
  4. Add steak and cook until browned, about 2 minutes.
  5. Remove steak and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, stir-fry onions and bell peppers for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Return steak to the pan, add water, and stir-fry for another minute.
  8. Serve hot with rice.
