A flavorful and quick Chinese-inspired pepper steak with onions, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients

- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Marinate steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a wok or skillet over high heat.
- Add garlic and stir for 10 seconds.
- Add steak and cook until browned, about 2 minutes.
- Remove steak and set aside.
- In the same pan, stir-fry onions and bell peppers for 2-3 minutes.
- Return steak to the pan, add water, and stir-fry for another minute.
- Serve hot with rice.
Notes
- Slice steak thinly for best texture.
- Use high heat for a good sear.
- Adjust soy sauce for saltiness preference.
