Ingredients
Scale
- 2 round cake layers (8-inch and 6-inch)
- 4 cups buttercream frosting
- Fondant for decoration
- Graduation cap topper
- Edible glitter (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the 8-inch and 6-inch cake layers according to recipe.
- Let the cakes cool completely.
- Level the cakes with a knife.
- Place the 8-inch layer on a cake board.
- Spread a layer of buttercream frosting on top of the 8-inch cake.
- Stack the 6-inch cake on top of the 8-inch cake.
- Frost the entire cake with buttercream.
- Cover the cake with fondant, smoothing it down.
- Add graduation cap topper and any additional decorations.
Notes
- Use food coloring for fondant if desired.
- Chill the cake before cutting for cleaner slices.
