- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas, frozen
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground lamb or beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, carrots, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and peas. Season with salt and black pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- In a separate bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with butter and milk until smooth. Spread the mashed potatoes over the meat filling, smoothing the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the meat with lentils and vegetable broth.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or green beans for more variety.
