- 12 oz jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 24 oz marinara sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook pasta shells according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces.
- In a bowl, mix cooked sausage, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each shell with the sausage and cheese mixture.
- Spread half the marinara sauce in a baking dish.
- Arrange stuffed shells in the dish and top with remaining sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for 10 more minutes until bubbly.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use mild or hot Italian sausage based on preference.
- Fresh basil can replace dried basil if available.
- Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
