- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
- 3–4 tablespoons ice water
- 3 ripe pears (sliced)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
- Roll dough into a circle on a floured surface.
- Transfer dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Toss pear slices with honey, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
- Arrange pears in the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border.
- Fold edges of dough over the pears, pleating as needed.
- Brush dough with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.

- Use cold butter for a flaky crust.
- Adjust honey based on pear sweetness.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
