Description
Rosca de Reyes is a traditional Mexican pastry served on Epiphany.
Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup mixed candied fruits
- 1/2 cup almonds
Instructions
- Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it.
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Add melted butter and eggs to the flour mixture.
- Incorporate the milk and yeast mixture.
- Knead the dough until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Shape the dough into a ring.
- Decorate with candied fruits and almonds.
- Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
Notes
- Serve with hot chocolate.
- Traditionally, a small figurine is hidden inside.
