Ingredients

  • 500g lamb, cubed
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add lamb pieces and brown on all sides.
  5. Stir in tomato puree and cook for 3 minutes.
  6. Add coriander, cumin, turmeric, and chili powder. Mix well.
  7. Pour in water, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes until lamb is tender.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with cilantro.
  9. Serve hot with rice or bread.
