- 500g lamb, cubed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 cup water
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
- Add lamb pieces and brown on all sides.
- Stir in tomato puree and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add coriander, cumin, turmeric, and chili powder. Mix well.
- Pour in water, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes until lamb is tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with cilantro.
- Serve hot with rice or bread.
