- 1 ribeye steak (12 oz)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp sour cream
Instructions
- Season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Remove the steak and let it rest.
- In the same pan, melt butter and add sliced onions and brown sugar. Cook until caramelized.
- Boil potatoes until tender, then mash with milk and sour cream.
- Serve the steak topped with caramelized onions and mashed potatoes on the side.

- Let the steak rest before slicing for juiciness.
- Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
- Use Yukon Gold potatoes for creamier mashed potatoes.
