- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm milk, egg, melted butter, red food coloring, and vanilla extract. Mix until dough forms.
- Knead dough for 5 minutes, then let it rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a rectangle.
- Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 slices.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
- Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla extract for icing.
- Spread icing over warm rolls and serve.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon filling.
