Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk, egg, melted butter, red food coloring, and vanilla extract. Mix until dough forms.
  3. Knead dough for 5 minutes, then let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle.
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 slices.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
  9. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla extract for icing.
  10. Spread icing over warm rolls and serve.

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon filling.
