- 1 box vanilla wafers
- 4 cups milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4, sliced bananas
- for topping whipped cream
Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture begins to thicken.
- Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and the pudding mixture. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up.
- Top with whipped cream and additional banana slices if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
