recettes healthy: 5 Irresistible Tips for Making Healthier Candy Apples

  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

A healthier version of candy apples, made with natural sweeteners and wholesome ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples
  • 1 cup (200g) coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 wooden candy apple sticks or sturdy lollipop sticks
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper and spraying it lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly to remove any wax. Insert the sticks into the stem ends of the apples.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine coconut sugar, maple syrup, and water. Stir until combined.
  4. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil without stirring. Use a wet pastry brush to clean the sides of the pan.
  5. Continue boiling until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), which takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Once at temperature, remove from heat and stir in cinnamon.
  7. Let the bubbles settle for 1 to 2 minutes before dipping the apples.
  8. Dip each apple into the syrup, letting the excess drip off. Place the coated apples stick-side up on the prepared sheet.
  9. Allow the apples to cool completely at room temperature before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the syrup reaches 300°F for a hard coating.
  • Let the bubbles settle before dipping to avoid a textured finish.
  • Store at room temperature and consume within 1 to 2 days for best texture.
