Description
Traditional Kings Cake recipe for Epiphany celebration.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 100g sugar
- 200ml milk
- 100g butter
- 3 eggs
- 30g fresh yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 orange zest
- 1 egg for egg wash
Instructions
- Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and orange zest to the flour mixture.
- Pour the milk mixture and knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
- Shape the dough into a ring and place it on a baking tray.
- Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Brush the dough with egg wash.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Decorate with dried fruits if desired.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
