Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and raspberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved to create a simple syrup.
  2. Add the fresh raspberries to the simple syrup and mash them gently with a fork to release their juices. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. Once cooled, strain the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds. You should have a smooth raspberry syrup.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the raspberry syrup, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
  5. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar or cold water as desired.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and whole raspberries if desired.
