Ingredients

  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 20 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Spread the melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture evenly on top.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 12 equal pieces.
  10. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar and milk to create a smooth icing.
  13. Drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra cozy flavor, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the filling.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
