  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over melted butter.
  4. Arrange pineapple slices on top and place cherries in the centers.
  5. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. In another bowl, beat granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Alternately add flour mixture and milk to the sugar mixture, mixing well.
  8. Pour batter over pineapple in the pan.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
