A quick and cheesy twist on the classic sloppy joe, inspired by the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Cook until softened.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in beef broth and ketchup. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly.
- Divide the meat mixture among the buns.
- Top each with 2 slices of provolone cheese.
- Broil for 1-2 minutes until cheese melts.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef for less grease.
- Add hot peppers for extra spice.
- Substitute cheese with American if preferred.
