Description

A flavorful herb stuffing with fresh ingredients, perfect for pairing with roasted meats or as a standalone dish.


Ingredients

  • 8 cups cubed bread (day-old works best)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes until slightly dry.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. Add onion, celery, and garlic. Cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in sage, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  6. In a large bowl, combine toasted bread cubes and the herb mixture.
  7. Gradually add broth, mixing until the bread absorbs the liquid.
  8. Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake for 30 minutes until golden.

Notes

  • For a crispier top, broil for the last 2 minutes.
  • Use gluten-free bread for a gluten-free version.
