  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

This homemade peach cobbler is a classic dessert that boasts a sweet and juicy peach filling topped with a buttery, flaky crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the peaches, then set aside to let the juices mingle.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
  4. Pour in the milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, making sure to include all the juices.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, add a pinch of nutmeg to the peach mixture.
  • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream for a delightful treat.
