- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the peaches, then set aside to let the juices mingle.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Pour in the milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, making sure to include all the juices.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
