Peach Cobbler: The Perfect Comfort Dessert in 30 Minutes

  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

A classic, comforting dessert featuring sweet peaches enveloped in a buttery, flaky crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
  4. Slowly add milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Pour the batter over the melted butter, but do not stir.
  6. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, ensuring even distribution of peaches.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use ripe peaches.
  • You can substitute fresh peaches with frozen peaches; just thaw and drain excess liquid before use.
  • Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg for additional warmth in flavor.
