Instructions
- Slice the onions into rings and separate them.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, paprika, and black pepper.
- Dip each onion ring into the buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture until coated.
- Next, dip the floured onion ring back into the buttermilk and then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add garlic powder or cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
