Description

  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 2 cups, shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • as desired Toppings of choice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to its highest setting (around 500°F or 260°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin round.
  7. Place the rolled dough on a pizza peel or greased baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce over the base, leaving a small border around the edges.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add your desired toppings.
  9. Carefully transfer the pizza to the hot pizza stone or bake directly on the baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, slice, and enjoy!
