- 4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups Water
- 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 cup Tomato sauce
- 2 cups, shredded Mozzarella cheese
- as desired Toppings of choice
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to its highest setting (around 500°F or 260°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin round.
- Place the rolled dough on a pizza peel or greased baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce over the base, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add your desired toppings.
- Carefully transfer the pizza to the hot pizza stone or bake directly on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, slice, and enjoy!
