Description

Mongolian Beef is a popular dish featuring tender beef slices coated in a sweet and savory sauce. It’s quick to make and pairs well with rice or noodles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Dredge beef slices in cornstarch, shaking off excess.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook beef for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from pan.
  3. In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, and water. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Return beef to the pan. Toss to coat in sauce and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Garnish with green onions before serving.
