- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 8 hot dogs
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Chill your hot dogs in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
- Insert skewers into each hot dog.
- Dip each hot dog into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Carefully place the battered hot dogs into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauces.
