- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, grated
- 1 tbsp fresh dill
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Mix chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Marinate for 30 minutes.
- Cook chicken in a skillet over medium heat until fully done, about 6-8 minutes per side. Slice into strips.
- Combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, feta, dill, and minced garlic to make tzatziki sauce.
- Warm pita breads slightly.
- Assemble gyros by placing chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion on pita. Drizzle with tzatziki.
Notes
- For extra flavor, grill the chicken instead of pan-frying.
- Let the tzatziki sit for 30 minutes before serving for better taste.
