Description

Celebrate a special milestone with this fun and delicious cake inspired by the iconic phrase. Perfect for a ‘Star Wars’ themed birthday party or any celebration!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue and yellow food coloring
  • Star Wars themed decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  4. Slowly stir in the boiling water until well combined. The batter will be thin.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
  9. Divide the frosting into two bowls. Tint one with blue food coloring and the other with yellow food coloring.
  10. Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving platter. Spread a layer of blue frosting on top.
  11. Top with the second cake layer and frost the top and sides with yellow frosting.
  12. Decorate with Star Wars themed decorations as desired.

Notes

  • For a fun twist, add edible glitter or star-shaped sprinkles for decoration.
  • Make sure the cakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
