- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for about 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Reduce heat to low and add cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir until cheeses are melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until evenly coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese or breadcrumbs if desired.
