- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 2 cups cooked lobster meat, chopped
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups whole milk
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.
- Slowly whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to whisk until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in the cheddar and Gruyère cheese until melted and smooth. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Fold in the cooked macaroni and lobster meat until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the mac and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
