Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in lemon juice and zest.
  6. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  8. Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
