Description

A refreshing and aromatic twist on a classic lemonade, infused with lavender and fresh mint for a delightful summer drink.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • as needed ice cubes

  • for garnish fresh mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of water and the granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Add the dried lavender to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and let steep for about 15 minutes.
  3. Strain the lavender syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, discarding the lavender buds.
  4. Add the fresh lemon juice and the remaining 2 cups of water to the pitcher. Stir to combine.
  5. Add fresh mint leaves and gently muddle them in the lemonade for added flavor.
  6. Chill the lavender lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  7. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
  • For a stronger lavender flavor, increase the amount of dried lavender used.
  • This lemonade can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
