Description

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, salt, pepper, basil, and oregano.
  4. If using ground beef, heat olive oil in a pan and cook the beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  7. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  8. Add half of the cooked ground beef (if using) and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  9. Repeat the layers: sauce, noodles, ricotta, beef, and cheeses.
  10. Top with the remaining noodles, sauce, and cheeses.
  11. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes.
  12. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or omit it for a vegetarian version.
  • Use no-boil lasagna noodles to save time.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
