A hearty and flavorful Korean beef stew with tender meat and rich broth.
Ingredients

- 500g beef (chuck or brisket), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 1 potato, diced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups water or beef broth
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a pot, brown the beef over medium heat.
- Add onion, garlic, carrot, and potato. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Pour in soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add water or beef broth. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours until beef is tender.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- Use a pressure cooker to reduce cooking time to 30 minutes.
- Adjust soy sauce and sugar to taste.
- Serve with steamed rice.
