- 1 oz simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water ratio)
- 8–10 fresh mint leaves
- Crushed ice
- Fresh mint sprig for garnish
Instructions
- In a julep cup or glass, muddle the mint leaves with the simple syrup to release the mint oils.
- Fill the cup with crushed ice and pour the bourbon over the ice.
- Stir gently to combine while chilling the mixture.
- Top with more crushed ice, forming a dome on top.
- Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and serve with a straw.
Notes
- For a stronger mint flavor, let the mint leaves steep in the simple syrup for a few hours before mixing.
